There’s a huge range emotion in the songs on this album too, from calm and ambient, to chaotic, to hugely dramatic. Prisoner of Azkaban came out a while ago, but give this soundtrack a listen and I’m sure memories and scenes will drift back into your mind. They’re very calm and I love listening to them separate to the album if I’m feeling a bit stressed and need a bit of relaxing, ambient music. There are some awesome ambient songs on this album too! “Hagrid the Professor” and “A Window to the Past” are favourites of mine.
If you’re listening while studying, you may want to give it a skip. He worked on the first three instalments. Moving into the 21st century, Williams was brought in to score the film adaptations of J.K.Rowling's hugely successful Harry Potter books. It’s messy, with lots of percussive instruments (and an accordion!) and while I love listening to this, it might be a bit distracting. It’s perky, it’s quirky and it features a lot of brass, woodwind and percussive instruments – which makes it great for the beginning of a study session when you’re having trouble finding your groove. Relive the magic of all eight films This composite medley represents each of the exciting film scores. “Aunt Marge’s Waltz” (the song that plays when Harry blows up his aunt at the beginning of the movie) is a genuine treasure of a song.meaning it has a wildly different sound compared to the first two Harry Potter movies. John Williams composed the first three Harry Potter movies, but Prisoner of Azkaban was a bit of a darker movie, so the music has a bit more of a darker tone. They all have this magical feel to them (obviously), but there have been four different composers across the eight movies – meaning that while they have a similar feel, there’s still a bit of a change in the music when the composer changes.
